What is Vama?

Vama is a fast, secure, and free messaging app with built-in payment functionality. It allows you to send messages, photos, and videos—and soon, money—all within a single platform. Groups can host up to 250,000members, and Vama is designed to keep you connected while offering flexible community management features.

Who is Vama for?

Vama is ideal for anyone seeking quick, reliable, and private messaging. Whether you’re catching up with friends, organizing events, or managing a large community, Vama’s streamlined interface and upcoming payment features help you stay productive and connected.

How is Vama different from other messaging apps?

Vama seamlessly combines messaging and payments. Instead of juggling a payment app to send money and a separate messaging app to confirm or discuss transactions, Vama keeps both in one place. This saves time, avoids confusion, and makes your overall experience faster and more secure.

Which devices can I use?

You can use Vama on Android, iOS, and computers. Log in with your phone number, and your chat history will sync automatically across all your devices without taking up extra space on your phone.

How do I invite friends?

Tap “New Message,” then select “Invite Friends.” You can send a personalized invite link so they can easily find and join you on Vama. It takes just a few seconds to expand your circle.

Is Vama secure?

We take security seriously and plan to implement end-to-end encryption in the near future. In the meantime, we use robust encryption measures to protect data in transit and at rest, and we distribute our network infrastructure across multiple data centers to ensure reliability. We also give you full control over your personal data, letting you download or delete your information whenever you choose.

How do I update my phone number or username?

Within the Vama app, go to “Settings” to change your profile details. If you switch phone numbers, Vama will ask you to verify the new number so your account remains protected.

My credit card is getting declined—what should I do?

Credit card declines are often due to security checks or geographic restrictions. Contact your card issuer to confirm you approve the transaction. If the issue persists, email info@vama.com with your Vama username and any details from your card issuer. We’ll do our best to help resolve it.

Where is Vama based?

Vama is headquartered in New York, with additional offices in California and Singapore. Our global presence enables us to meet diverse user needs and adhere to international regulations, ensuring a consistent experience for everyone.

When can I send payments to friends directly?

Vama expects to roll out its first payment functionality in early2025, starting in the United States, before expanding to more features and other countries. Latin America is one of our next priorities. Stay tuned for updates in the app and on our website.

How do I delete my account?

If you decide to leave Vama, open the app, tap “Settings,” then tap your name at the top. Scroll down to select “Delete Account.” All associated data will be permanently removed. If you’d like a copy of your personal information beforehand, visit Vama.com/settings to download it before deletion.
